Imprisoning reality one picture at a time

About Me

Life is good! I have the most beautiful  boy, a loving family, a great partner, and the best friends.  I work on IT for living and love my job… I am soooo lucky, I count my blessings every day. Right now I am in a very good place.

Photography is my passion, but I am the worst of lovers.  I don’t practice enough, I always find the perfect excuse and most of the time, life is my excuse.  So I decided to do a little experiment:  I would carry my camera more often and I would document my simple life one shot at a time.  I am done thinking on exotic places I may never go and take “the one picture”.

At the end I hope to be inspired buy little simple things.

Beyond images and equipment,  two books have been a great inspiration on what photography means to me.  Susan Sotang’s “On Photography”  and Roland Barthes’ “Camera Lucida”. They are masters that translate what they see, their reaction to the image, and socio cultural implications with incredible brilliance.

There are so many great photographers out there!  But Robert Mapplethorpe and Annie Leibovitz have a special place on my list.  Both are portrait artists but while Mapplethorpe is minimalistic and brutally provocative,  Leibovitz is the queen of dramatic settings and a subtle provocateur.
